Bringing the outsiders into limelight
The exhibition will form part of the Brighton Artists Open Houses festival, a visual-arts festival that this year celebrates its 30th anniversary.
Marc Steene, head of learning and community at Pallant House Gallery, said: “Artists Open Houses is an open-to-all inclusive community event, reaching out to all areas of the city and showing work of experimental and nationally-regarded artists, as well as school and college students.

Outside In was launched by Pallant House Gallery in 2006 as a platform for artists who find it difficult to access the art world whether due to disability, health, social circumstance
or art process.
Marc describes the project as a “gentle revolution”, creating a more equitable and fair art
world. The opening exhibition will be followed by other exhibitions throughout the year, with an emphasis on community, support and the promotion of local creative talent weaving
throughout.
