Armed man attempts to rob Worthing betting shop
The man entered Betfred, in Brougham Road, at about 7.20pm, armed with what appeared to be a handgun.
He demanded money but was refused, and made off empty handed.
No shots were fired and nobody was injured.

Hide AdThe weapon had the appearance of a very dark grey handgun, with a barrel about five inches long.
The man is described as being 6ft 2in, in his 20s or 30s, of medium build, with a local deep accent.
He was wearing a black hooded top and blue jeans with a white dyed line down the middle of both the legs.
He was wearing a black mask with holes for the eyes with the material being described as 'stretchy', not woollen and not like a balaclava.

Hide AdHe was carrying a bag described as a red cord style plastic bag or a black sports bag with red straps.
After the failed robbery attempt he walked along Brougham Road and then south along Chatham Road where he walked past some members of the public.
It is believed he may have taken his mask off by this point as these people seemed unaware of what had taken place.
Anyone who saw this incident or the man escaping is asked to contact Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999, quoting serial 1535 of March 31.
