Police were called to Tilgate Park yesterday (Thursday November 28) to deal with an unexploded bomb near the Walled Garden cafe.
A council worker found a rusty grenade a few metres from a public path and police were notified shortly after midday.
The area near Tilgate Drive was cordoned off and a bomb disposal team from Aldershot attended. After examining the weapon, it was removed without being detonated and taken away for disposal.
