Littlehampton U3A open day success

Littlehampton mayor Ian Buckland went along to the Guide Hall, in Duke Street, Littlehampton, to see the displays and meet those involved.
Many activities are available for retired people with time on their hands and at very little cost.

Hide AdEve Harty, one of the group leaders, said: “About 100 people attended to learn more about the organisation and find out what activities it offers.
“They were spoilt for choice with 22 of their 50 groups showcasing their activities, like beginners’ astronomy, pitch and putt, Latin and ballroom dancing, card making, chess, current affairs and digital photography.
“The day was a great success, with some people joining on the spot and more than 20 application forms taken home to complete.”
The U3A is open to people who are retired or are no longer working. Many who join find new friends and the chance to follow a wide range of interests and share skills with others.

Hide AdFriendly coffee mornings are held at The Vardar, in Selborne Road, Littlehampton, on the second Monday of the month (except December), 10.30am to midday.
