Madeiran links to Littlehampton sealed with gifts as ministers visit
Arun vice-chairman Councillor Dougal Maconachie, his wife Cllr Jacqui Maconachie and chief executive Nigel Lynn welcomed the ministers to the Arun Civic Centre.
Minister of culture, tourism and transport Dr Conceicao Estudante and her colleague, director of emigration Goncalo Nuno dos Santos were accompanied by José Andrade, president of Littlehampton-based traditional Madeiran music and dance group Perola do Atlantico, to be taken on a tour of the civic suite, including the council chamber, before enjoying afternoon tea.

Hide AdThe relationship with the Madeiran officials began last April when past chairman of Arun Ann Smee and her husband Bill were invited to a guided tour of the Town Hall in Madeira whilst on holiday there, last year.
