East Grinstead’s new memory headphones for people with dementia
The Alive Inside headphones, purchased following a donation from the Ace Theatre Company, have been shared for use between the East Grinstead Library and Age UK (East Grinstead and District).
Town mayor, councillor John Dabell, presented the headphones on behalf of the East Grinstead Dementia Friendly Community to Age UK on Thursday, May 13, and will give the others to the library this week.

“The headphones will be able to be used by the clients at Age UK and borrowers from the library.
“Anything that helps us to help people with dementia to smile and have a good day, is always worthwhile and we are very grateful to the Ace Theatre Company for their donation which made this possible.”
The headphones are cordless and come with a memory card where music, favourite books or messages from loved ones can be preloaded and listened to by a person who has dementia.
