Yellow weather warning as Storm Ellen batters Sussex today

There is a yellow warning for wind as Storm Ellen hits Sussex today (August 21).
Strong winds are expected to lead to some travel disruption and perhaps some temporary power disruption, according to the Met Office.
Delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely.

Hide AdSome bus and train services will be probably be affected, with some journeys taking longer.
Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges are likely.
Some short term loss of power and other services is possible.
It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities are affected by spray and/or large waves.

Hide AdSome damage to trees with debris on roads are also possible given the time of year.
