Playing in difficult conditions, Ardingly scored an early goal as Oscar Haynes Brown set up Oscar McConnell for a simple finish. Ardingly now play Manchester Grammar School in the final on the 20th March at Burton Albion F.C.
The score remained 1-0 at half time, and after a small amount of Whitgift pressure just after the break, McConnell scored again with a thunderbolt from 20 yards to double the lead. Haynes Brown, who had been a menace all day to the Croydon based defence, added another before Whigift scored to make it 3-1. Ardingly’s defence, led by the excellent Matt Penfold, held firm from a concerted effort by Whitgift before Haynes Brown ran through again to make it 4-1.
