In the opening match, Worthing beat Jersey 25-1 against a strong team that featured a number of players with national league experience.

Hide AdIn the second match, Worthing beat Southampton 14-5. A 9-2 lead at the mid-point resulted in a more defensive second-half display but they always controlled the match and were able to utilise all the bench.

In the third match, Worthing beat Cranleigh 35-5 in a very one-sided event, where Worthing's fitness and all-round play dominated. Junior Alexander Cranford played the second half of the match in goal and the final quarter saw Worthing's team made up entirely of juniors except for first-choice goalkeeper Ben Alcorn outfield.

Hide AdThe fourth match saw Worthing beat City of Oxford 22-7 in a fine performance against a talented and physical team.
Once again, all the squad played their part in a good team performance, which was a good way to finish a busy weekend.

Hide AdThis was an excellent weekend for the senior men's team, which now includes many memebers of the club's outstanding junior squad.
Martin, Abbott and Tate continue to be part of the Great Britain national junior squad and Hardinge is making great progress now he is training at the national academy, which is based in Grantham.
The second tournament takes place on Jersey at the end of March, when Worthing hope to remain unbeaten in this competition.
