A total of 28,628 cases had been confirmed in Worthing when the UK coronavirus daily dashboard was updated on March 2 (Wednesday), up from 28,519 on Tuesday.

The cumulative rate of infection in Worthing, which covers the whole pandemic, stands at 25,855 cases per 100,000 people, far lower than the England average of 28,502.

In England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, if one person tests positive for the virus more than 90 days after the first infection, two infection episodes will be recorded, according to the UK Health Security Agency.

Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 43,753 over the period, to 19,029,321.

The number of coronavirus deaths were revised down in the latest 24-hour period in Worthing.
